Six Cents CAN Save a Life!

Dear Friends:

In order to stay healthy, it is important to drink 1.5 to 2 liters of clean water every day. We may think clean water is readily available, but not everyone enjoys such conveniences. More than 1 billion people do not have access to clean water. More than 2.6 billion people around the globe lack even the most basic sanitation facilities. That means one and five children in developing countries are susceptible to diseases caused by bacteria that grow in unsafe waters--and 5,000 die every day.

But there is hope!

As a Circle K member, I have joined CKI and the U.S. Fund for UNICEF's Six Cents
Initiative. This initiative is designed to help children get the rehydrating salts they need to survive dehydration spells and to help UNICEF provide long-term solutions to achieve their goal to educate safe water and hygiene practices, and to provide supplies to produce safe water supplies for communities.
